My Social Media Campaign for EMMIE Magazine
For the issue release of EMMIE Magazine in Fall 2021, I spearheaded a social media campaign that positively and permanently impacted the organization’s social media following. I ran my campaign from November 25th- December 7th, being our release day. I created Instagram stories, reposting and hinting at both the theme and the featured artists. I designed an Instagram video asset to generate excitement and share knowledge of the release date. I interacted with other organizations and created partnerships to share our digital assets and spread the word to their networks. I engaged with many people through these posts, giving information about the release and answering all other related questions. This work led to an increase in accounts reached by 1,865%, accounts engaged by 1,979%, and total followers by 3.6%.

In this insight, you can see that my campaign not only targeted the dedicated consumers of our magazine, but successfully strived to reach new audiences to grow our magazine on campus.
I grew our accounts reached by a great amount when I was only halfway through the campaign. Since we only distribute in Madison, it also shows that I successfully reached and grew our audience within our target geographic area.
Release Day
On the day of our release, I shared our magazine cover with a passionate message about the magazine and where to find it. This post was widely boosted, getting over 140 sends! This was our most popular and most engaged with post to date.
An element that helped with its incredible reach was my utilization of the collaboration tool. I wanted to invite the cover artists, Ohmme, to collaborate, sharing my post on their page, but I didn’t know if they would be open to it. They accepted! The post was shared on both of our accounts and helped to boost this post, increasing our engagement greatly.
I created this video asset to preview a photo from our artist photoshoot, effectively hinting at the theme and the artists featured in our magazine. I felt so proud to see a post a designed myself had such great reach and had the amount of impressions we had! Our impressions increased by 2,523%, profile visits by 1,132%, and website taps by 61,966% from this post alone!
New Music Friday
A new idea that my peer had pitched was to do New Music Friday. I facilitated this idea by reaching out to other members for their weekly picks, researching and selecting songs to fill in the gaps, creating the playlist, updating the link in our Linktree, and promoting the playlist through Instagram posts designed by other EMMIE members. Through the insights above, you can see that from a bit after the time we began the playlist to close to the end of the semester, there was a lot of growth in the attention and popularity of the initiative!
